Measurement of Diffuse, Transparent, or Translucent Targets.


Multiple Reflections Targets are Not a Problem.
Conventional laser displacement sensors were unsuitable for measuring transparent and translucent targets, as well as targets that produced multiple reflections. Thanks to the ABLE surface sensing technology and new measurement algorithms, highly accurate measurement of these types of targets is now possible.

Sensing the surface conditions to control laser light intensity to the optimal level
ABLE technology senses the surface of a target and adjusts the intensity of laser light to an optimal level. ABLE intelligently controls the three elements of laser emission time, laser power, and gain (CCD amplification factor), achieving a wide adjustment range of light intensity that is up to 90 times wider than conventional models. In addition, speed is 120 times faster than conventional models through the use of real-time control with a high performance CPU. Accurate measurement can be performed despite drastic changes in the target’s surface condition. * ABLE= Active Balanced Laser control Engine

Measuring the surface of translucent plastic with high accuracy
RPD cancels the gradual broadening of the received light waveform generated by diffused reflection of laser light that enters the target, and then it reliably detects the true peak position (Real Peak) * RPD= Real Peak Detect.

Optimizing the light emission level on the surface of multiple transparent targets
High-accuracy measurements unaffected by transmission factors or reflectance ratio are enabled by optimizing the laser light intensity for each layer of a transparent target and synthesizing the waveform of each layer. (Patent pending)

Eliminating Multiple Reflections from a Metal Surface
When two or more peaks are generated by multiple reflections, the algorithm compares the waveforms to the most recent received-light waveform and determines the one with the most similarity to the “correct waveform”. (Patent pending) * MRC=Multiple Reflection Cancel

Two types of laser beam spot diameters are available: * Wide beam spot type features a newly designed cylindrical lens enabling stable measurements on patterned surfaces. * Small beam spot type features a sharp 30 um beam spot diameter for minute target measurement.
